Padma Liver Foundation is a small, registered organisation with one aim: that liver disease should not be a mystery or a terror for anyone. Since 2022 we have been doing that work from a chamber in Uposohor.
How it started
Year after year in Dr. Harun’s chamber the scene repeated itself: someone arriving with an ultrasound report that said “fatty liver”, certain it was a death sentence. Or someone newly positive for hepatitis B whose family was now afraid to sit next to them. In most cases, what was needed before any medicine was five minutes of someone explaining.
Padma Liver Foundation is an attempt to turn those five minutes into an organisation. Specialist consultation at the chamber, plain-language information on this website, and hepatitis awareness in the community. The name is the river this city sits beside.
