Dr. Harun founded Padma Liver Foundation in 2022 with a simple idea: people in Rajshahi should not have to travel to Dhaka, or guess from the internet, to understand what is happening to their liver.
He is Professor and Head of the Department of Hepatology at Rajshahi Medical College & Hospital, and has practised medicine for 32 years. His training is in hepatology, the medicine of the liver, with a broader background in internal medicine and the digestive system. In practice that means he sees the whole picture: the diabetes behind a fatty liver, the medicines that may be adding to the strain, the family who should be tested after a hepatitis diagnosis.
Consultations are unhurried. Bring your reports, ask your questions, and expect plain answers about what the results mean and what, if anything, needs to happen next.

Endoscopy and colonoscopy
- Endoscopy
- A thin camera passed through the mouth to look at the food pipe, stomach and the start of the small intestine. Used for persistent indigestion, difficulty swallowing, bleeding, and to check for enlarged veins in cirrhosis.
- Colonoscopy
- A camera examination of the large intestine. Used for bleeding from the back passage, a change in bowel habit, unexplained anaemia, or follow-up of known bowel conditions.
